I was NOT impressed with the weather last weekend, though it didn't stop us from taking in the Farmer's Market and the Waterfront Festival (despite the fact that my child was practically blown into the Bay). I'm hoping for better this weekend because there are so many amazing events to check out!
If you'll be in the Cookstown area, this weekend is the annual "Wing-Ding", including hundreds of yard sales throughout the village, a huge antique and craft sale, pancake breakfast, live music and more. Click the link to get the details!
Heading the other direction, Burl's Creek in Oro is holding its 27th Annual Automotive Flea Market today through Sunday. You can partake of the huge flea market, car sales and auctions, live music and, of course, the ale tent! Click the link for more info.
If you'd like to find a bargain and help a good cause at the same time, Gilda's Club of Barrie (which serves all of Simcoe County) is holding its annual garage sale and BBQ from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Westside Lutheran Church in Barrie. Gilda's Clubs around the world offer support to people living with cancer, and to their families.
And if you sat out last weekend's festival due to the weather, never fear, there's another one this Saturday! It's the 10th Annual Celebrate Barrie community festival, with local entertainment, rides, a petting zoo, historical re-enactments and more! Don't forget to come back at dusk for an outdoor showing of the film "The Iron Giant". Click here for the details, and have a great weekend! - Caleigh
